Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters 10th National Show - Awards
A variety of awards went to participating artists in the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters 10th National Show.
Best in Show was awarded to Stephen C. Datz for "Piedra River Interlude", judged by Carole Cooke. Cooke then chose John Potter's "Colorado Cloudburst" for the Western Art Collector Award of Excellence. The Art of the West Award of Excellence went to Teresa Vito for "Rust Never Sleeps", another choice of Carole Cooke.
Bonnie Ganglehoff and Kimberly Moore of Southwest Art Magazine announced a tie for the Southwest Art Award of Excellence. The winners were Carol Jenkins for "Late Afternoon" and Michael Godfrey for "Pagosa Morning." Each artist received a half page ad in Southwest Art Magazine.
The participating artists award for Best Body of Work ended in another tie. Winners were Teresa Vito and Erin O'Connor. The Artists Best in Show went to Greg McHuron for "Table Mountain Aria."
The Gallery Award winner, chosen by Gallery Director Jean Magnelli, went to Ken Tiessen for "Water Under the Bridge", a pastel piece.
There were two winners in the Quick Draw category: John Potter and Aaron Schuerr.
The final award was the People's Choice and was won by Michael Godfrey for "Classic Green."

Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters New Paintings will be available for viewing and purchase by 5:00 PM (MDT), Friday, August 5th. To view, go to the "Artists" menu; the RMPAP page is the first choice.
Quick Draw - Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters
The Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters 10th National Show is coming soon! The quick draw will be Saturday, August 6th, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Quick draw artists will be in Town Park, along the river, in Centennial Park, and on the Visitor Center lawn area. Paintings will go on sale at Wild Spirit Gallery at noon.
A donation from the sale of these new paintings will go to the Fine Art Magnet Academy at Pagosa Springs High School.
